Broken or worn drive belt? You've come to the right place. Our drive belt selection will knock you out!
Drive belts are extremely important for the function of your Elantra. A drive belt operates the alternator. If the alternator does not receive power from the engine via the drive belt, it does not supply electrical power to the system and you go nowhere. (Fortunately, you can drive short distances in an emergency using the power in your battery should your drive belt break.) The same thing with your power steering pump. If your belt breaks, your power steering stops working. The air conditioning compressor also runs off of your drive belt - broken belt, no a/c, it's that simple.
We have serpentine or V-belts, ribbed or unribbed available through this site.
Most truck, car, SUV, and van manufacturers suggest that you inspect the drive belt every 15,000 miles or every 12 months. If you inspect your belt, look for fraying; separation of the belt "piles"; "glazing," (a shiny area anywhere on the belt); cracks; streaks on the sidewall of the belt; breaks; tears; or oil soaking.
Oil soaking means that there is an oil leak somewhere. Check the transmission, engine, or power steering fluid reservoir. Stop any leak immediately.
Glazing on the top of the belt or streaks on the sidewall probably means that the belt is not adjusted properly.
Replace the belt(s) on your Elantra promptly if you see signs of any of the above problems.
