Do you like your Elantra? And you want to keep it even though it has many miles on it? Maybe it's time to think about installing a new engine.
New OEM or rebuilt engines are called "crate" engines because you can install them right out of the crate. No worry about whether the engine will run or the quality of the engine itself. Our refurbishers are the best: they do the job right and at a reasonable cost.
It is possible that the engine you will use to replace your worn out original will be better than the original. How? Because our rebuilders use parts and components that exceed the manufacturer's specifications.
When the rebuilder refurbishes an engine, s/he removes all plugs. Then s/he cleans all the components, and inspects the oil galleys to make sure oil will flow to all parts after the engine is rebuilt. The tech then examines the block for cracks. Next, the technician re-bores the cylinders up to the next size and installs new sprockets, bearings, rings and pistons. S/he re-grinds the camshaft, replaces all seals and plugs, and installs a new timing belt or chain. S/he also installs new rocker arms, push rods, and lifters, in addition to a new or re-built oil pump.
On the cylinder head, the technician resurfaces the valves and installs new valve guides. S/he pressure and vacuum tests the head. The tech then cleans the engine again before reassembly. S/he re-adjusts the valves, and checks the cylinder compression and oil pressure. Final inspection includes checking for oil leaks and listening for unusual noises.
