Repairing your Elantra can be a fun project, or it can be difficult, your choice.
We want to help you keep it on the fun side. That's why we offer so many alternatives for repairing and maintaining your Hyundai Elantra.
First, check out our great selection of repair videos, DVDs and manuals. Go to any one of our parts dealers and make a selection.
Manuals are great because they are very comprehensive. They cover all aspects of the vehicle, from routine maintenance, like tune-ups, oil changes and tire rotations, to complete engine teardowns and everything in between. Need to know how to do a brake job? The writers of these manuals actually do the brake job, photograph the procedure and write about it so you get a step-by-step method of doing the job, from start to finish, by people who have actually done the work. Manuals are also great because you can take them into the garage with you to reference photos, drawings, procedures and specifications.
You can also order videos and DVDs, where you can view a repair procedure in motion pictures and listen to the narration.
Another alternative available here, is joining a repair service. These online services give you access to the latest safety and repair information. You get trouble codes, OEM part numbers, diagnostic charts and illustrations, component locations, and factory maintenance schedules. But the biggest plus with repair services is that you receive technical service bulletins or TSBs. These bulletins are normally only available to authorized Hyundai dealerships and repair facilities. TSBs focus on issues that consumers and repair shops report to the manufacturer. TSBs, then, are a result of actual problems, and are written specifically to help the automotive technician diagnose and repair these problems. Often these are fixes found nowhere else. TSBs describe repair procedures that may improve performance and at the same time reduce future breakdowns. Or they may show a factory-authorized modification for your Elantra. Online repair services also provide safety recall information, safety-related problems, and an overview of the types of TSBs available. The TSBs available include an online repair service are updated every three months. This is in contrast to a repair manual, which is printed once then becomes progressively out-of-date. You can also print out the latest repair procedure both text and photos or diagrams, and take this information with you into the garage or repair area.
After you have gathered all of the information you need, whether it is from a video, DVD, manual, or online repair service, you will need to gather the necessary tools to do the job. Our parts and accessory dealers carry a large variety of tools and accessories, including hoists, jacks and lifts, wrenches, socket sets, work lights, test lights, specialty tools, and diagnostic equipment. Having the right tool for the job makes your task that much easier.
Remember: working with a knowledgeable friend not only gives you extra pair of hands but an extra head as well, to find answers to questions and solutions to problems.
